Reading the names
The two numbers that matter are the inner diameter and the wire pattern. A 2.5mm coil suits tighter, mouth-to-lung style decks and smaller build chambers; 3mm suits wider single-coil and dual-coil RDAs where there is room for airflow around the coil. Names like Alien, Fused Clapton, Hybrid and Superfine describe how the wire is wound and clad, which changes surface area, ramp-up time and how much power the build asks for. A Superfine MTL coil and a Monster Mech Alien sit at opposite ends of that scale.
