LIPI nicotine pouches, sold under the E-Xhale brand, are small tobacco-free pouches placed under the lip that release nicotine through the gum. They contain no tobacco and produce no smoke or vapour. Each tin holds 15 pouches and comes in two strengths, 3mg and 6mg per pouch, listed at R40 per tin for most flavours. Nicotine strength is a specification, not a recommendation: 3mg is the lighter option and 6mg the stronger, and if you have not used pouches before the lower strength is the one to start comparing against what you already use.
How pouches differ from vaping
A pouch delivers a fixed dose over 20 to 40 minutes rather than on demand. Many people find the first few pouches produce a tingling or burning sensation under the lip, which fades with use. Pouches are not a cessation product and are not described here as one; they are a nicotine format for existing adult nicotine users who want something discreet for places where vaping is not possible.
Flavours, prices and stock
Six tins are catalogued: Mint, Mango and Berry, each in 3mg and 6mg. Note the pricing: the 6mg tins and the 3mg Mint are R40, while the 3mg Mango and 3mg Berry are listed at R179. Check the price on the product page before ordering, as the difference is large and may not be intentional. Stock at the time of writing is thin: 3mg Mango and 3mg Berry 5 each, 6mg Mango and 3mg Mint 4 each, 6mg Berry and 6mg Mint 1 each.
Practical notes
Place the pouch between the upper lip and gum; do not chew or swallow it. Used pouches go in the bin, and many tins have a compartment in the lid for them. Keep the tin closed and dry.
