Tropic Bar

What sits under this brand

Tropic Bar splits into two quite different things, and the split matters more than the flavour choice. The first is the Tropic Bar Blast Replacement Pod 8000 at R189, a prefilled pod for an existing Blast battery. The second is the standalone Tropic Bar disposable in 10k and 12K puff ratings at R299, which is a complete throwaway device. Buying a pod when you need a device, or the reverse, is the easy mistake here.

Choosing between them

If you already own a Blast body, the R189 pods are the running cost and there is no reason to buy the disposables. If you do not own one, a pod on its own will not work. The disposables are self-contained and priced accordingly. Both are listed at 50mg, which is a specification of the product rather than a recommendation about what to buy.

Flavours on the Blast 8000

The pod line covers Kiwi Passionfruit Guava, Peach Mango Guava, Peach Ice, Watermelon Ice, Miami Mint, Cola Lime, Strawberry Kiwi and Triple Berry Ice. The disposable line carries its own smaller list, including Energy Drink and Miami Mint.

Stock reality

The contrast between the two lines is stark. The Blast 8000 pods are the best-stocked items on this brand by a wide margin: Peach Mango Guava shows 1284 units, Kiwi Passionfruit Guava 1070, Peach Ice 625 and Watermelon Ice 440. Below those, Miami Mint has 38, Cola Lime 7 and Strawberry Kiwi 2, while Triple Berry Ice is at zero. The standalone disposables are the opposite: the Tropic Bar 12K Energy Drink and the 10k Miami Mint both sit at zero. In practice this is a refill brand at the moment, not a device brand.
