Nic Salts

Nic salts are ready-to-vape liquids made with nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine. The practical difference is throat feel: salt nicotine is noticeably smoother at 20mg to 50mg than freebase would be, which is why it is the standard fill for small pod devices. Everything in this category is pre-mixed; you buy the bottle, fill your pod and go.

The two numbers on the bottle. Strength (mg/ml) and bottle size. Strength is a specification, not a suggestion: 50mg is very high and is designed for low-power pods that produce small amounts of vapour per puff; 20mg and 25mg sit in the middle; 10mg and below suit people who vape more frequently or use slightly more powerful pod devices. Using a 50mg salt in a device meant for direct-lung liquids will be unpleasant and is not what either product is for. Bottle size is almost always 30ml for salts in South Africa.

Cost per millilitre. Pre-mixed salts run around R10 per millilitre (R299 for 30ml). That is the premium for convenience; the same 30ml made from a longfill flavour shot and a nic shot costs R6.50 to R9.50. If you go through more than a bottle a week, the longfill route in the Nic Salt MTL Longfills section saves real money.

What ADVapes stocks. The Airscream AirsPops 313 range dominates this shelf at R299 for 30ml at 40mg, with deep stock on most flavours (Freezy Grape, Lychee Raspberry, South Pole, Pink Crystal, Peach Ice, Zesty Lemon, Ice Watermelon, Polar Mint, typically 17 to 105 units each). The pre-mixed salts from other brands sit in the Pre-mixed Nic Salts subcategory.
