Nic salt and MTL (mouth-to-lung) e-liquids are made for pod systems and low-power devices: small coils, tight airflow and a short, cigarette-style draw. This is the second-largest range on ADVapes, and it covers three quite different product types that are easy to confuse.
Pre-mixed nic salts are ready to vape straight from the bottle, usually 30ml, at a fixed strength. The Airscream AirsPops 313 range at R299 for 30ml is the benchmark here, sold in 40mg and a 19mg half-strength version. Other pre-mixed brands include Choef, Binjai, ELFLIQ by Elf Bar and Cosmic Dropz in 35mg and 50mg.
Longfill flavour shots are a 30ml or 60ml bottle containing only concentrated flavour, with empty space left at the top. You add your own nic salt shot and top up with vegetable glycerine to reach the strength you want. They cost less per millilitre than pre-mixed and let you choose between, say, 12mg and 25mg from the same bottle, but you need to buy the shots separately from the Additives & Shots category and mix them yourself. Pod Salt, Bard, Onecloud and 6Zero are the main longfill brands stocked.
MTL freebase liquids use standard freebase nicotine rather than salt, typically at 6mg to 18mg. They give a stronger throat hit at the same strength, which some ex-smokers prefer and others find harsh.
Choosing a strength. Nicotine strength is a specification, and the right one depends on your device and your existing intake. As a rule, higher-resistance pod coils (0.8 ohm and above) are paired with 20mg to 50mg salts; anything below 0.6 ohm is a direct-lung coil and should be used with 3mg or less. Using 50mg salts in a sub-ohm coil is unpleasant and wasteful.
Read the label. Strength is stated in mg/ml. A 30ml bottle at 40mg contains 1,200mg of nicotine in total; keep it sealed, out of reach of children and pets, and do not decant into unlabelled bottles.
