Twisp South Africa: Coils and Replacement Parts (2026 Guide)

Twisp is the name that introduced a generation of South Africans to vaping, and there are still plenty of Arcus, Nimbus, Clearo and Ion devices in daily use around the country. If yours is still going, the part you need is coils. This guide covers the Twisp spares ADVapes lists, how to work out which coil fits your device, and what is available in 2026. Everything we carry sits on the Twisp brand page.

The Twisp coils we list

ADVapes carries replacement coils for four Twisp devices, all sold in 3-packs:

  • Twisp Arcus 1.8Ω — 3-pack, around R199
  • Twisp Nimbus 0.2Ω — 3-pack, around R175
  • Twisp Clearo — 3-pack, around R175
  • Twisp Ion — 3-pack, around R175

They are named here in plain text rather than linked, for a reason the stock section below explains.

Working out which Twisp coil you need

Twisp coils are not cross-compatible, and the resistance printed on the coil tells you what kind of vape it was designed for. The Arcus coil at 1.8Ω is a mouth-to-lung unit — a tight, cigarette-like draw at low power, best paired with higher-nicotine liquid. The Nimbus at 0.2Ω is the opposite: a sub-ohm, direct-to-lung coil that produces far more vapour and burns through e-liquid much faster, so it wants a low-nicotine, high-VG juice.

The Clearo and Ion coils are both MTL units for the older Twisp clearomiser-style tanks. If you are not certain which you have, the safest check is the coil already in the device: unscrew it and read the resistance printed on the side.

Whichever you fit, prime it. Drip a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton, screw it in, fill the tank, then leave it five to ten minutes before you vape. Firing a dry coil is the single most common way people ruin a new one on day one.

Twisp coil stock at ADVapes right now

The honest position: all four Twisp coil packs are currently out of stock. We have deliberately not linked the individual product pages, because there is nothing you could add to a basket. Twisp spares do come back in, and the brand page is the place to check.

Thinking of moving on from Twisp?

Twisp hardware is now several device generations old, and a lot of the people asking us for Arcus coils are really asking whether the device is still worth keeping. It is a fair question. Modern refillable pod systems are smaller, hold their charge better, and use mesh coils that deliver noticeably cleaner flavour than a 2010s wound-wire coil ever could.

They are also cheaper to run. Pods last longer than the old coils did, and you fill them with whatever e-liquid you like at whatever strength you like — including 0mg if you have already stepped your nicotine down. Our pod systems guide walks through how they compare, and the Pod Systems & Kits category shows what is in stock today.

If you would rather stay with a familiar MTL draw, look for a kit with a coil or pod in the 0.8Ω to 1.2Ω range. That is the closest modern equivalent to the Arcus feel, and it will take nic-salt e-liquid happily.
